SHOPPERS have told of their horror after spotting Easter chocolate on the shelves just hours after Christmas. Those looking for a festive treat were stunned to find the sweet treats a whole four months early in Morrisons, Tesco and B&M. Shoppers at Tesco and B&M said they were shocked to see Easter Eggs being sold a whole four months early.

Shoppers have branded the move and "absolute joke" adding Boxing day is an inappropriate time to be selling Easter chocolate. Taking their frustration to X, one user wrote: "The bloody Easter Eggs were being stacked onto the shelves today in my local Co-op. Boxing day! Not wasting time.".

They added: "Who's gonna be bothered about Easter eggs when it's several months away?. "Not to mention hardly anyone will be able to afford much at the start of the new year, not long after Christmas.". Another said: "Making sure the Co-op have the Easter Eggs out on Boxing Day.".

It appears Co-op isn't the only shop stacking its shelves with Easter chocolate, with Morrisons, Tesco and B&M being called out for it too. One commenter wrote: "Morrisons very much nailing the spirit of Christmas by launching their Easter eggs on Boxing Day.".

Shoppers criticised the shops for jumping into Easter too quickly. One user said: "Christmas used to be special, it used to be a really magical time. Now it's just about milking the public for every penny.". Another said: "B&M had Easter stuff starting to go out a few days ago. Local shop has Creme Eggs. It's ridiculous. Nobody enjoys themselves anymore, it's always what's next.".
