Tesco has urgently recalled its Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices due to an incorrect use-by date. Both the supermarket and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) have released details of the recall. The supermarket stated: "We are recalling a specific date code of Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices 125g due to an incorrect Use By date code.".
The printed Use By date shows January 24 instead of December 24, which could pose a health risk. Tesco is urging customers not to consume the popular sandwich meat if purchased, reports the Express. In a product recall notice, Tesco added: "If you have purchased the affected date code of the above product, please do not eat it. Instead, return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
"For any further enquiries, please contact our customer service team directly on 0800 505 555.". The supermarket reassured customers that no other products were affected by this recall. However, Tesco also has another ongoing recall due to an incorrect use-by date with another product.
This is the Red Cabbage and Apple 300g due to the Use By date code printed being December 29, instead of December 11. Tesco said: "An extension of the Use By date could pose a risk to health if the product is kept past the correct shelf life of the product.".
