The Crow Girl has finally landed on Paramount+ with fans curious to know where the crime drama was filmed. The six-part crime thriller revolves around DCI Jeanette Kilburn (played by Eve Myles) and partner DI Lou Stanley (Dougray Scott) as they hunt for the serial killer leaving the bodies of beaten young men out for them to find.
With growing pressure to catch the culprit before the bodies really start to pile up, Jeanette seeks the help of psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly) to help give her a fresh perspective on the investigation. Together, they attempt to unweave the complicated web spun that’s leaving them fearful for the lives of young men around the city.
Based on the best-selling trilogy by author Erik Ax Sund and adapted by writer Milly Thomas, The Crow Girl on Paramount+ was released in full on Thursday, January 16. The Crow Girl is set in Bristol and was also filmed around the city with production starting back in March 2024.
Many scenes take place at the Bristol Metropolitan Police in the crime series with the station created in the former Bank of England building on Wine Street. Shooting also took place in the park at Castle Park, as well as at Castle Bridge, on the bridge itself and around the area of St Jude’s.
The cast and crew did venture out for some of the shooting, venturing to Brean in neighbouring Somerset. Key moments of The Crow Girl, particularly in episode five, were shot on the beach at Brean Sands, as well as at Brean Down. Actress Eve Myles, who is known for starring in BBC ’s Keeping Faith, opened up about her character prior to the drama’s release.
