Abandoned Dry January, or never even attempted it in the first place?. No need to worry, as one London bar is offering cheap pints to anyone who has broken their booze-free resolutions. Market Place Food Hall and Bar in Vauxhall is offering pints of Asahi beer for just 17p on Friday, January 17, to honour what is known as ‘Quitters Day’.
Usually designated as the second Friday in January, it’s thought to be the day when most give up their New Year’s resolutions for good. The venue is asking customers to head to the bar and ‘confess’ their abandoned Dry January pledge to claim their pint.
Whether Dry January or another failed resolution, honesty will be rewarded. It comes with a catch, though. There are only 100 pocket-friendly pints available, and they’re only on offer between 12-2pm. Holly Hilton, marketing director of Market Place, said: ‘Let’s be honest, most of us set unrealistic goals after over-indulging during December.
‘Rather than feeling guilty about it, why not embrace the fact we’re perfectly imperfect with an almost-free pint in good company?. ‘After all, you’ll be with others who agree life’s too short and have also broken their Dry January vow.’. The pub also listed some terms and conditions on their Instagram page, which detailed that just one pint per customer will be served, and customers must be able to provide valid ID.
