Tommy Fury has finally addressed the real reason behind his split from Molly-Mae Hague after months of speculation. In August last year, the couple who met on Love Island in 2019 shocked the nation when they announced their sudden split. The pair had become engaged months before and welcomed a daughter, Bambi Fury, together in January 2023.
Tommy was forced to deny allegations of cheating after widespread speculation plagued the breakup. The 25-year-old boxer has now confirmed the real reason behind the breakup was because he got ‘addicted to alcohol’. In a new interview with Men’s Health, Tommy confessed his mental health had been ‘in the pan’ after his boxing injury put his career on hold.
He shared: ‘There’s been so much s**t in the papers every single day for the past six months: “Cheater, cheater, cheater; he slept with me; he slept with this girl”. Complete and utter b*****ks. And you can ask Molly herself’. The speculation was increased after a woman claimed to have slept with Tommy while he was with Molly-Mae, which quickly went viral.
In his first public appearance after the split, Tommy was even booed in the stands at Wembley Stadium in September as he watched the Anthony Joshua fight against Daniel Dubois. Tommy continued: ‘The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore.
