The idea of ordering wine by the centimetre might be off-putting to some. How much will it be? How do I limit my intake? Might I accidentally drink a whole magnum?. But those brave enough to try it can head to Mozart, a Brussels restaurant where the unconventional pricing method is less of a gamble than it looks.

Close to the Grand Place in the historic centre of the Belgian capital, the restaurant claims to stand out from the ‘tourist traps’ that surround it with a menu of £20 all-you-can-eat spare ribs. But it’s the wine list that’s attracting the most attention.

TikToker Chelsea, who posts as @cheapholidayexpert, recently visited the restaurant to test if the wine-by-the-centimetre pricing was a scam. She told her 160,000 followers: ‘My general advice is to never accept anything without knowing the price, especially if you’re in a tourist area. But I am willing to do this for the plot.’.

I thought it must have been left behind, but then noticed that ALL the tables had it… On the first page of the drinks menu, I found the answer – this was their house wine that you could help yourself to, and once you were done they would simply measure how much you drank and charge you for it. HOW WONDERFUL! But the cynic in me was thinking ‘but how much is this really gonna cost me?!’ 🤨 So I had to give it a test – and I’m so glad I did 👏 Ooh and as well as wine by the cm, they also do all you can eat ribs (with sides!) for just over £20!
