TV presenter George Clarke has revealed he was robbed, and feared being stabbed. The architect, who has featured on Channel 4 programmes including The Home Show, The Restoration Man, George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and Channel 5’s Property Dreams, took to Instagram to share the ordeal.
He reassured fans that he was ok, but a watch he ‘loved’ had been stolen. The 50-year-old wrote: ‘To the little **** who stole my watch tonight….I pity you.’. After his followers shared their messages of support, George added in the comments: ‘Thank you for all of your kind words. I really appreciate it.
‘At the end of the day it’s only a watch…I loved it but thankfully it had no sentimental value…’. He went on: ‘It’s only a watch at the end of day. Although I loved it and grafted for it. ‘But I could have been stabbed so let it go….’.
‘I’m ok. Just angry with myself,’ he said. Architect George is best known for his work on Channel 4 programmes, though his first TV appearances came about by chance, when his literary agent suggested he do a screen test for a Channel 5 programme Build A New Life in the Country.
Since 2004, he’s presented various property and architectural programmes, and earlier this year, fronted George Clarke’s Adventures in Americana. He’s also the author of several books, but earlier this year, said he doesn’t want to be a celebrity.
