For fans of BBC One's reality sleuth show Traitors, it's already been five long days since the last episode aired on Friday evening. And anticipation for tonight's show is all the more fervent thanks to the tease of a new superpower for one of the contestants who've made the final week.

With just three episodes left until Friday night's crescendo episode, the programme has mixed things up this year, with the introduction of The Seer, a character lifted from Werewolf, the cult card game that the show is based on. The show's brand new twist was revealed by host Claudia Winkleman in the final moments of the last episodes, as she told those gathered at the round table: 'Someone will win an extraordinary power that could turn the entire game on its head.'.

A camera also panned to a glimpse of a book spine, which read The Seer, appearing to confirm what the superpower is. The reality show is loosely inspired by Werewolf, also known as Wolf, with The Seer being a key character in the game. The card game has won fans for decades with its requirement for both strategic thinking and impressive acting skills, and has been dubbed the 'party game for devious people'.

In the game, The Seer is able to guess at the Werewolf's true identity in secret, and can then go on to help 'the Villagers', the equivalent of 'the Faithfuls'. Werewolf, rated 10+, sets a small informed group called the 'wolves' against the uninformed majority known as the 'villagers'. Each group tries to deceive the other in order to win.
