This season's Champions League has taken some getting used to for fans familiar with the eight-group, four-team format that saw the top two teams in each group progress to the round of 16. The new league format in place for the 2024-25 season means that only the top eight teams in the group will qualify automatically for the last-16.

Teams who finish anywhere between 9th and 24th will be required to go through a play-off round to ensure they advance to the next stage of the competition. So, when is the Champions League draw and which TV channel will the event be broadcast on as it happens?.

This season's Champions League has taken some getting used to for fans familiar with the eight-group, four-team format that saw the top two teams in each group progress to the round of 16.

The new league format in place for the 2024-25 season means that only the top eight teams in the group will qualify automatically for the last-16. The draw for the Champions League play-offs will be held on Friday January 31. While the scheduled start time of the draw is not yet known, the equivalent event to decide the group stages began at 5pm in the UK.

The draw is also likely to be shown on UEFA’s YouTube channel as well as being broadcast on TNT Sports. Teams finishing between ninth and 16th in the league standings will be seeded for the play-off round. It will see them drawn against an unseeded team that finished between 17th and 24th in the table - with seeded team also having the benefit of playing the second leg at home.
