Whitehall briefly shut down due to 'police incident' on Christmas Eve

The road outside Downing Street was briefly shut down due to a “police incident” on Christmas Eve. A large section of Whitehall was cordoned off at lunchtime as the Met Police checked an item that had been found hear Horseguards. The force told the Standard that the item had been checked by police and the incident was stood down at 2.15pm on Tuesday.
