Luke Littler's older brother - Leon - refuses to play against the newly crowned world champion because he doesn't want to "embarrass himself". The family have seen the 17-year-old soar to the top of the darting world, landing his first World Championship at Alexandra Palace last week with a dominant win over Michael Van Gerwen in the final.

Littler's age hasn't been a barrier to his exploits but he admits that his brother was better than him several years ago before the lockdown prompted Leon to step away from the oche. Littler told The Guardian in a January 2024: “My brother was actually as good as me, at one point he was better than me. When lockdown hit, he stopped playing but he’s trying to get back into it. It’s good to see him falling back in love with the game.”.

Now the older brother won't even play with his world champion family member in fear of how badly he could get beaten. Leon joked that Littler wouldn't even let him win as a Christmas present, but is loving being an observer of his brother's exploits. He said on playing the world champion: "I don't do it. I'm not going to embarrass myself. He's not going to let me win for a Christmas present is he? I used to play him all the time but I love watching him. Seeing my brother at that age, makes me happy because I know how good he is and how good he was. Even at the age of 10, he was showing signs of being a good player. We just didn't know we were going to be here twice in a row.".
