Even though the finale has just wrapped, fans are clearly hungry for more roundtable action, with Australian and New Zealand spin-offs now streaming on iPlayer. Some of the most notable players have even found fame – especially previous winners who are now enjoying their share of the fortune.
With the format now well established and Claudia Winkleman now developing a cult following as host, producers may be wondering where they go next. One thing that is certainly going to happen is a celebrity Traitors series, with the BBC having previously launched famous versions of Masterchef, Pointless and The Apprentice after a format starring regular Joes.
Here are all the details you need to know about who we can look forward to taking on challenges, telling lies, and looking to recruit or banish. Former House of Commons Speaker John Bercow and Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu have both already been in a celebrity Traitors filmed in the US but this is the first UK edition.
The celebrity series will be filmed in the Scottish Highlands, although it has not been said who will be in it and when it will be released. A fourth series featuring members of the public will follow on, the BBC has confirmed. Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC's head of entertainment, said: “The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand-new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.”.
