Woman, 20s, dies and two-year-old girl left seriously injured in horror ‘attack’ at home as man arrested

A WOMAN has died and a two-year-old girl left seriously injured following a horror "attack" at a home. Police were scrambled to Ashford, Surrey, yesterday afternoon following a report of a concern for safety. The woman, aged in her 20s, was discovered dead inside while the young girl was rushed to hospital.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Surrey Police believe the victim and suspect were known to each other and said there is not believed to be a wider risk. No update has been released on the girl's condition.
An investigation, led by the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team, is underway and enquiries are ongoing. Senior Investigating Officer DCI Kimball Edey said,. “This investigation is in its early stages and a team of specialist officers are working around the clock to gather as much information as possible.
