Woman arrested in connection with alleged assault after pensioner’s death An elderly woman has died and another woman has been arrested following an incident in South Lanarkshire.
Police Scotland are treating the incident as unexplained and a 49-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with alleged assault.
At around 8.25pm on Wednesday, police were called to reports of a woman being seriously injured in a house in Gilmour Drive, Hamilton.
Officers are still in the area and have encouraged the public to come forward with any information while inquiries continue.
The 78-year-old was found dead at the scene.
