Kelly Lindsay, of Carrollton, intended to play her favorite Virginia Lottery scratcher game but instead received a Money Blitz ticket.
Lindsay opted to take a one-time cash payment of $1.25million before taxes instead of annual payments over 30 years amounting to $2million, according to the Virginia Lottery on Tuesday.
A woman who got upset over being given the wrong ticket while playing the lottery ended up winning $2million.
Her odds of winning the top prize were one in 1,142,400 – and it was one of two, meaning there is a second winner who has yet to come forward.
She resides Isle of Wight County, which got over $3.7million for kindergarten to 12th grade education from the state lottery last year.
