The Saints find themselves rock bottom after 20 games with just six points following Saturday's 5-0 home thrashing from Brentford. Even Derby County in 2007-08 - the worst team in Premier League history - had one more point at this stage.

Mick McCarthy was managing Sunderland that season as they were relegated from the Prem after finishing rock bottom with 15 points.
