A WWE star was rushed to hospital after his risky move went horribly wrong on live TV. And the shocking moment left fans deeply worried about their hero. Irish Ace was competing in the World Tag Championship alongside Dominik Mysterio. However, things took a sudden turn for the worse.
Irish Ace - real name JD McDonagh - attempted an ambitious springboard moonsault. That is where a wrestler performs a backflip off the middle rope of the ring to the outside and brings down their opponent in a chokehold. And while he got plenty of airtime with the takeoff, he did not execute the move as planned.
Irish Ace, 34, overshot his rival - who tried to catch him - and took an almighty fall then slammed his neck back into the commentators' desk. He immediately slumped forward and was clearly in serious pain. Incredibly, he managed to carry on and see out the match - although the pair lost and the War Raiders retained their Tag Team Championship title.
McDonagh was then taken to hospital for a check-over. And it emerged he had broken several ribs and even punctured a lung in the ordeal. He wrote on X: "First off, thanks to everyone for the messages and the concern. I'm good. "I've got a couple of broken ribs and a punctured lung, so I'm going to be out for a couple months.
