An advert for high street giant Next has been banned for featuring a model who appeared to be “unhealthily thin”. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said the “irresponsible” ad used the camera angle and styling as well as the model’s pose to emphasise the slimness of her legs. The ad, a product listing for denim leggings on the Next website in September, showed the model sitting on a wooden block with her legs extended towards the camera.
