Amanda Abbington has reportedly turned down a large offer to take part in Celebrity Big Brother after her Strictly Come Dancing experience. The Sherlock actress, 50, quit the dancing competition last year before making claims Giovanni Pernice had bullied her during rehearsals, which he denied.

The BBC launched an investigation into the 34-year-old dancer, upholding two moments of ‘inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace’. While the Strictly investigation has ended, Amanda is said to be ‘traumatised’ by the experience and has rejected the chance to appear on the popular ITV show.

According to an insider, she has nothing against the rebooted show but is protecting herself from trolls after receiving hate online over the Giovanni complaints. ‘She couldn’t face going through all the trolling that she received when she complained about Giovanni which made her feel like public enemy number one,’ they told The Sun.

‘Amanda has absolutely nothing against Celebrity Big Brother, though. Indeed, she will be tuning in to watch the show next year, along with the rest of the country.’. Giovanni and Amanda were paired together on the 2023 Strictly series but withdrew early in week six after a cancer scare forced her to stop.
