The BBC's new series Dope Girls has finally been given a release date and will soon be gracing our TV screens. Details of the six-part show were first unveiled last year, along with sneak peeks of the cast in character in a series of first-look images. The teasers promise that Dope Girls "brings the Soho streets of 1918 vividly to life". Produced by Bad Wolf in association with Sony Pictures Television, the series is "inspired by a forgotten time in history" and looks set to captivate TV audiences.

Here's everything you need to know about Dope Girls, including where to watch... Dope Girls chronicles the journey of one woman from working class wife to London's most dangerous woman, set against the backdrop of the end of World War One. The official synopsis states: "It is the end of World War One. As Britain celebrates the Armistice on the streets of London men return from the front expecting to rejoin society and pick up where they left off, but a newly empowered generation of women are loath to simply return to the kitchen.

"Using Soho's burgeoning illicit underground clubland scene as their playground women explore previously unimaginable opportunities on either side of the law. Dope Girls depicts in visceral, delicious detail the birth of the modern nightlife industry guided and gilded by hard fought female endeavour.". The star-studded cast of Dope Girls features Eliza Scanlen, Umi Myers and Julianne Nicholson, alongside Michael Duke, Ian Bonar, Dustin Demri-Burns and Geraldine James, reports the Express.

The ensemble also includes Nabhaan Rizwan, Priya Kansara, Jordan Kouamé, Will Keen and Sebastian Croft. It will be available for streaming on BBC iPlayer and will also air on Saturdays on BBC One. Each episode, running for 55 minutes, is set to broadcast at 9.15pm. The first episode, intriguingly titled When She Was Bad, She Was Very Very Bad, is scheduled to air on Saturday, 22 February. Dope Girls will begin airing on BBC One on 22 February. All episodes will also be available to stream via iPlayer from 6am.
