The Traitors fans might be in for a treat as a new show is set to challenge the BBC hit's top game show status. Destination X, a unique travel adventure series, has been described as a mix of The Traitors' mystery and the high-stakes adventure of Race Across the World.
The show will see ten contestants embark on a European road trip on a bus with blacked-out windows, ensuring they have no idea where they are. To add to the intrigue, players will wear vision-blurring masks every time they step off the bus. The game plays out like a life-sized board game, with participants blindly solving clues to pinpoint their location. Each episode will see them trying to guess their whereabouts, with the furthest from the correct location being eliminated.
Only the winner will make it to the final destination and claim the prize. Drama is also a key entertainment factor for the series - cameras and microphones follow participants inside the bus with 10 bunk beds where they will live at all times, capturing the forming of alliances, betrayals and disputes.
Originally launched in Belgium in 2023 as Bestemming X, the format became an instant hit and was soon replicated in France, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, and now the UK and the US are jumping on board. While the US version enlisted The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a presenter, the BBC will have Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon hosting the adventure.
