You may now kiss the bride - but only if you can hear the officiant over the crying baby. One bride, from Texas, was left fuming after a guest allowed his baby to cry nonstop during her ceremony, which she said was adults only. In a clip shared to TikTok, the bride, Claire Kendall Taetz, expressed her displeasure over the situation. Claire could be seen about to say 'I do' to now-husband Joshua Joe but, as they were exchanging vows, a baby was heard loudly crying in the background.

'No children were invited aside from our nieces and nephews and I wish that our wish had been honored,' Claire, who works as an actor, explained. She added that she noticed the crying as she made her way down the aisle. 'At first I understood babies can have a bad time and I was hoping the parent would promptly take the child out,' she admitted. 'But as the officiate went on, so did the crying.'. The couple could be seen giving each other 'concerned' looks in the clip, as the wedding party looked out to the pews of the church to see where the screech was coming from.

According to the bride, the other guests asked the man to step outside with the crying baby but he refused 'as he'd driven 10 hours to see it.'. Instead, he stepped outside momentarily with the infant before returning almost immediately. 'I was holding my tongue because I don't think it's acceptable for a bride to say something,' she said.

Claire admitted she was 'confused' with the chaos that erupted around her, but was trying to stay present as she was saying her vows. 'My husband was concerned as well and in the video you can see he was trying to lock in, despite the child fussing loudly,' the blushing bride shared. The newlywed admitted she was upset by the disruption, especially as she had requested a child-free wedding. 'Mind you, this went on for 10 minutes and said guest refused people offering to take child out for him,' she pointed out.

'Mother of bride whipped around and motioned to "take her out,"' she added. Claire admitted the crying baby left her feeling 'disrespected' and 'distracted.'. 'It's not the child's fault,' she added. 'It's the fact the father didn't have the courtesy to excuse himself out and that took away from the atmosphere in a monumental moment of my life.'. The irate bride added she thinks it's the parent's responsibility to keep their child under control and avoid them disturbing such a 'special' occasion.

She says she didn't confront the dad after the ceremony, but had other guests telling her they were annoyed for her which made her feel uncomfortable. '[Guests] are there to support your marriage and the crying was not the most comforting thing to hear,' she pointed out. 'You can't predict how a child will behave in a situation like this and it's your responsibility to help them regulate their emotions,' she added.
