Carla Connor (Alison King) is facing a lifetime of dialysis if she can’t find a donor kidney in Coronation Street, but so far she hasn’t been enamoured by the options. Having refused to accept a kidney from Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) or Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Carla was happy to wait until one was available from the donor register.

However, her family were desperate to see her get the treatment she needed, which led Bobby to take drastic measures and visit killer dad Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) in prison. Though Rob initially outright refused to entertain the idea of donating a vital organ to his estranged sister, he later had a change of heart, citing his new-found religious beliefs for his sudden generosity.

When Bobby returned to the hospital with the news, informing Carla that Rob was a changed man, she refused to accept it, and revealed that she’d rather spend the rest of her life on dialysis than take Rob’s kidney. In tonight’s episode, Bobby remained persistent, though Carla has never been one to back down.
