David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) had planned to set fire to his home a few weeks ago in Coronation Street, in a desperate attempt to get his hands on more money. David hoped he’d be able to claim on the insurance post-fire, and then use that cash to pay Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) back.

While the Platt home was destroyed, David wasn’t responsible. At first, Leanne (Jane Danson) was accused of starting the fire due to Toyah (Georgia Taylor) getting trapped inside, but it was then confirmed Max (Paddy Bever) threw the lit rag into the house.
Max handed himself in, but David and Shona (Julia Goulding) paid him a visit recently and said they hope to be able to move him to Scotland. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video.
