Derek Chisora asked fans to choose who he takes on in his 50th and final fight, offering Anthony Joshua, Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk for them to choose from. The 41-year-old continued his impressive run of results at the climax of his career, beating Otto Wallin by unanimous decision on Saturday night in Manchester. The veteran knocked the Swede down twice on his way to a points victory, which is his third on the spin after wins over Gerald Washington and Joe Joyce since his last defeat, to Tyson Fury in 2022.

Chisora now holds a record of 36-13 and will step through the ropes one more time before retirement, taking his professional total to a round 50 fights. Asking the crowd in Manchester to help him pick his final opponent, some of Chisora’s famous friends brought three pictures into the ring after the fight with Wallin. Rappers Skepta, Lethal Bizzle and Tinie Tempah all stepped onto the canvas, grasping the photos of potential opponents.

Raising Usyk’s picture got a mild response, Joshua’s received comfortably the liveliest reaction, while Dubois’ picture sparked boos more than cheers. So if that is how he is genuinely making his decision, then War will be chasing AJ for his final bout. The win over Wallin actually puts Chisora in line to fight for Dubois’ IBF heavyweight title, although Dynamite is first defending that belt against Joseph Parker later this month.

Promoter Frank Warren says the decision for his final opponent is entirely in the fighter’s hands and he will look to make whatever scrap he fancies. ‘Whatever he wants, we will make it happen. We will sit down and make it happen,’ said Warren. ‘He’s now won an eliminator for the IBF title, and that’s Daniel Dubois’, so he has that in the bank. ‘Whatever he wants to do, we will do. Tonight, what a performance. I can’t tell you how proud I am of how he fought in there, Otto as well, because it takes two to make a fight.’.

Chisora didn’t have it all his own way against Wallin, suffering a bad cut by his right eye, but he survived it admirably. ‘I thought he was going to gas out but he didn’t and I was wrong,’ he said. ‘It was a firefight.’.
