Disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been taken to hospital from his prison cell after concerns were raised about his health. The music producer, 55, is currently being held by law officials on numerous charges relating to several alleged sex crimes as he awaits trial. Combs is currently situated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, which has previously held the likes of R Kelly and rapper 6ix9ine.

He is said to have been rushed from the high security prison to Brooklyn Hospital in the middle of the night on Thursday at around 10pm local time. An urgent MRI scan was requested after Combs apparently complained about a serious pain in his knee, said to have been caused by a previous injury. Speaking to the New York Post, a source said that the I’ll Be Missing You hitmaker got his MRI authorised because his ‘knee was bothering him’.

It was stressed to the American publication that the MRI scan only took place at night in order to avoid whispers and speculation from other inmates at MDC. Combs is not thought to have stayed at Brooklyn Hospital overnight, being moved back to his cell as soon as the MRI scan was over – no results have been disclosed. Regarding the rumours, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson told the press: ‘For privacy, safety, and security reasons we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for anyone in our custody to include medical status or medical trips.’.

Combs – who has formerly gone by numerous aliases including Puff Daddy and P Diddy – has been locked up ever since he was arrested last year on charges relating to sex crimes, racketeering, and prostitution. He has been denied bail on several occasions but maintains his innocence, strongly denying all charges brought forward – his trial is set to begin in May 2025. On top of the criminal charges he’s facing, Combs is also being sued by several people who have brought civil cases against him, claiming they were subjected to physical or mental abuse.

Among those suing him is R&B singer Cassie – real name Casandra Ventura – who was Combs’ long-term partner between 2007 and 2018. She filed the suit in November 2023, alleging that the Tell Me performer subjected her to a decade-long ‘cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking’. In May 2024, footage obtained by CNN showed Combs allegedly physically assaulting Cassie in a hotel room in 2016 – the rapper apologised for his actions in the video, calling them ‘inexcusable’.

The assault was stopped by hotel staff, who were – according to legal documents – allegedly later bribed by Combs to stop the video from ever being seen by the general public. In January 2025, a woman claimed she was drugged and raped by Combs when she was a teenage babysitter more than two decades ago. In a lawsuit filed a few weeks ago, obtained by MailOnline, an anonymous woman has claimed she was lured into Combs’ car in 2000, after babysitting at a Manhattan residential building.

He is said to have asked her where she was going and, after saying she lived just around the corner, the alleged victim said she went into his car ‘after much cajoling’, where two of his associates were also sat.
