The Duchess of Sussex's estranged father has told of how he dreams of bringing his "whole family together" and wishes his daughter "no ill-will". Thomas Markle, 80, revealed that he didn't "like some of the things" Meghan had done but would "always love her".
His interview with the Mail on Sunday comes amid the duchess' return to Instagram and the release of a trailer for her new lifestyle show on Netflix. Mr Markle, who is planning to leave his coastal home in Rosarito, Mexico, said: "I'm not running away. I am going in search of a more positive life.

Meghan has been estranged from her father since around the time of her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018. Mr Markle, a retired television lighting director and director of photography, made headlines across the globe after he was caught staging paparazzi photographs in the days ahead of the ceremony.
The duchess has previously said she discovered her father was not going to attend her wedding "through a tabloid". With Love, Meghan premieres on 15 January and will feature appearances from celebrities including The Office actress Mindy Kaling and Meghan's former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
The eight-part series will see the duchess welcome her guests to a California estate, where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips. Harry and Meghan's Archewell Productions helped to make the series and she also gets a credit as one of its executive producers.
