Emmerdale legend ‘misled and hurt’ as she confirms diagnosis

Emmerdale and EastEnders star Patsy Kensit has candidly opened up about a recent diagnosis after having a ‘bad day’. The actress, who is best known to Emmerdale fans as Sadie King, took to Instagram with a picture of a sad face emoji, revealing that she was struggling with her mental health after receiving a diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder last year.

‘Today has been a hard day. Today I feel misled and hurt,’ she wrote in the caption. ‘I was diagnosed with PTSD at the end of last year and really turned a major corner and was feeling great. I don’t feel great today. I feel grateful but sad.’.

She added: ‘Anyone who has dealt with mental health issues and depression will understand and know that you are not alone…. ‘When I’m working I feel none of the above.. I’ve just finished filming. I will meditate and try and raise my frequency to bring positivity back into my life.

‘Today is just a bad day.’. Her followers were quick to take to the comments with words of support and advice, with one saying: ‘Sending love… you will heal lovely.’. ‘Break it into chunks – today doesn’t have to impact tomorrow. You’ve got this,’ another advised.

Others were able to relate to Patsy’s post, sharing their own stories of being diagnosed with PTSD. Patsy first appeared as Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) wife Sadie in the ITV soap in 2004. During her two years in the Dales, Sadie got divorced, had an affair with Robert Sugden, embarked on a vicious feud with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), faked her own kidnapping with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), and got remarried to Alasdair Sinclair.
