A film director who 'stormed out' of the Golden Globes after losing out on an award has got fans all saying the same thing. Luca Guadagnino, director of blockbuster hits including Call Me By Your Name, Suspiria, A Bigger Splash and the recently released Queer, was spotted leaving the awards ceremony prematurely. His film, Challengers – starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist – scooped up one award despite receiving four nominations.
Trent Reznor's original soundtrack picked up the film's only win of the night, while lead actress Zendaya was snubbed for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The film itself was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, an award ultimately won by musical thriller flick Emilia Pérez.
Guadagnino was seen leaving his table and bidding farewell to a few members of the Academy at the back of the room following the announcement. A clip of Guadagnino leaving the awards ceremony has since gone viral, and many fans praised him for "storming out". One user simply wrote: "Good for him lol.".
Those who saw him leave the ceremony prematurely praised him for not sticking around to see the Best Picture awards speech. One wrote: "Such a diva, I adore him. (I'd have done the same.)" Another added: "Don’t blame him, Emilia Pérez is straight trash." A third wrote: "I don't blame him.".
