The family of a British mum who was discovered dead in Greece are hoping to finally see justice after her diary revealed details about her alleged stalker. Jean Hanlon, 53, from Dumfries, Scotland, was found lifeless in Heraklion harbour in 2009. Her loved ones, who have been searching for answers for 15 years, believe she was murdered. They pleaded with private detective, Haris Flukounis, for help as they hoped to solve the mystery cold case.

Haris, who is based in Athens, analysed the evidence and handed over a 29-page dossier to prosecutors after identifying a man with the help of a diary. The diary included details about her alleged stalker, where she described him as "possessive" and "jealous". Last week, a 54-year-old man was questioned by the police. He cannot be named at this time.

Haris hopes Jean’s family will finally see justice, reports Daily Record. He said: “No woman deserves such an end. He is some-one fully aware of his actions, without a trace of remorse, and repeatedly attempted to mislead me about what really happened. Jean’s son Michael is grateful she kept the diary. He said: “It’s from mum’s diary, we know it was a brief relationship which Mum was in for a short period. Then she rejected him.

"But he kept pushing, He stalked her and became very possessive over her. He’s been jealous. He always wanted to meet. I think this time she has thought, ‘OK, he’s taking me out. I’ll go meet and tell him it is over’. He is saying that never happened. If he was telling the truth, why would mum’s diary have meetings, dates?”.
