YouTuber Mr Beast has dropped his highly-anticipated show Beast Games on Prime Video, and it has left everyone asking the same question. The show sees 1,000 contestants battle it out to with $5million (about £4million), the largest cash prize on a game show in history.
With new episodes released every Thursday until mid-February, the contestants are expected to take part in ethical, logical and physical challenges until a winner is crowned. In episode one, 1,000 were seen stood in rows around the jackpot – and the pre-game challenge saw 52 contestant self-eliminate for around £19,230 each.
After this, the remaining 948 contestants had a moral decision to make – self-sacrifice themselves to save their row, or risk their entire row being eliminated. But viewers got a surprise as 243 contestants exited the show, sparking confusion and conversation on social media.
Those eliminated were dropped from their platform and fell out of shot below, prompting viewers to wonder how far they fell and what they fell onto. Sharing a clip of the sudden drop, one user said on X (formerly Twitter): "Mr Beast's Amazon game show Beast Games is absolutely insane.".
Another user added: "Where do they even fall? On foam or something?" A third user said: "Mr Beast legit recreated Squid Games, and had people plummet to the depths of Hell…" In a breakdown video, YouTuber Jon Youshaei interviewed Mr Beast about the inaugural episode, learning about its planning, production, and the raw emotions of crew and contestants behind the scenes.
