FORMER Premier League striker Lys Mousset has been given a chance to revive his career at Bohemians. The Irish side have taken Mousset on trial as he tries to get back into the game after a year out. The forward was once signed for £10million by Sheffield United and made 99 appearances in the Prem for the Blades and Bournemouth.

He only scored nine goals but did receive a lot of plaudits in the 2019-20 campaign after scoring four goals in six games. That included goals against Arsenal and Manchester United, but Mousset's career unravelled quickly after that. He suffered multiple injuries and made just 20 appearances for Sheffield United over the next two years before being released.

A loan spell at then Serie A side Salernitana before his released proved fruitless, and he was picked up by VfL Bochum in the summer of 2022. However he failed to make an appearance for the German side due to fitness reasons, and he was suspended over a "lack of motivation, unpunctuality and unprofessionalism", as per Bild.

Mousset, 28, reportedly failed to show up for training despite the session taking place next to the hotel he was staying in. Manager Patrick Fabian said there was “no point” in giving the striker a chance, but he has now found a new opportunity at Bohemians.
