Furious locals have slammed fly-tippers that have left a Glasgow suburb "looking like landfill.". Shocking photos taken on Kintras Street, Iona Street and Columba Street show the extent of the fly-tipping in parts of Ibrox. Images show plastic buckets, planks of wood, discarded mattresses, old furniture and bin bags of rubbish which are torn and loose on the street.

Local resident Lorraine Hargan, 74, has become used to fly-tipping sightings in the 50 years she has lived in the area - but she says lately it is the worst it has ever been. She said: "There's rubbish and junk around corners and down streets. I have seen things like washing machines and just bags of rubbish.

"This is the worst it has been. It is a real mess. It is an eyesore, it's dreadful." She said anyone who visits the area, including taxi drivers who work there, notice the problem - and added she doesn't want her grandchildren there because of health concerns.

Other locals say the amount of rubbish makes Ibrox one of the most fly-tipped parts of Scotland. One fumed at the council: "How about collect rubbish instead of cutting pickups so people have space in their tiny bins.". Another said: "I honestly cannot believe people can leave their s*** like this. This is getting out of control. It's completely taking over everywhere you go there's fridges couches and numerous other things. STOP LITTERING OUR CITY you scumbags take care of your own s*** responsibly.".

One said: "Just shows how lazy and entitled people are in Glasgow. Make a mess then moan that the place is disgusting and expect others to clean it up." Another said: "This is disgusting & what the hell is happening way the people living in our city who are doing this!! Council should put cameras up catch them and give them a fine also make them clean it." One said: "It looks like landfill.".
