Hollyoaks viewers were left in shock during the latest episode of the Channel 4 soap. In Monday's (February 17) instalment as Darren Osborne (played by Ashley Taylor-Dawson) woke up at Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Lucas Hay's (Oscar Curtis) house with little memory of the previous night. Back home, Darren found himself in hot water with wife Nancy (Jessica Fox) and Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith). Rex arrived to collect his bag of money from Dillon, only to find it missing, leading to a panicked search as Dillon discovered Rex's boss is involved in drug dealing.
Darren apologised to Frankie, who accused him of sleeping with Kat Omari (Sonia Ibrahim), an accusation he denied. However, when Kat didn't back up Darren's story, he was left stunned. Frankie later discovered that Kat and Darren knew each other from Newcastle, leading her to kick them out. Later, Kat told Rex she couldn't help him with Frankie, but he threatened her, saying if she ever wanted to see her son again, she'd have to help groom Frankie for his business.
When Rex showed up at Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) and Robbie Roscoe's (Charlie Wernham) engagement party with a facial injury, Dillon assumed it was inflicted by his boss, reports the Liverpool Echo. Rex played a cunning game, advising him to steal from the Hutch to rectify his mistakes and avoid further trouble. Viewers were left reeling when it was revealed that Rex had been in possession of the missing duffle bag all along.
One fan took to social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, to exclaim: "I KNEW IT! ! ! ! Rex took back the duffle bag and framed Dillion for losing it. That's so messed up.". Another chimed in with: "REX HAS THE DUFFEL BAG" accompanied by two crying face emojis. A third viewer commented: "It's not your fault Dillion, you lost Rex's money, it's his fault stashing it at your place, knowing you were having a party, and anyone could take it.".
It has recently been announced that Hollyoaks will delve into the issues of criminal and sexual exploitation, focusing on young characters Frankie and Dillon who are being manipulated by a criminal gang. Rex has been exploiting Dillon, taking advantage of his vulnerability and attempting to drive a wedge between him and Lucas. Meanwhile, Frankie is being groomed by Kat under the orders of Rex and Grace Black (Tamara Wall).
