Valentine's Day typically sees couples put on romantic displays of affection to show their love for one another. However, it doesn't have to be that way, with businesses up and down the UK hosting events and activities for those that define themselves as anti-Valentine's. Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Programme got particularly creative with their idea, and are offering singletons the opportunity to purchase a rat named after their ex to be fed to an owl in exchange for a small donation.

Elsewhere, a TikTok user, who goes by @liverpoolbars, has created an anti-Valentine's pub crawl for people who are 'lonely, sad, or single'. The host started the alcohol heavy outing by ordering sambuca shots at a bar called Cheers, before moving on to various other bars around the centre of Liverpool. 'Valentine's Day is SO over rated anyway,' the creator added in the caption. Elsewhere, venues, including Old Oak pub in Cork, are hosting anti-Valentine's Day parties, where attendees can delete pictures of their exes in exchange for a free pint.
