Skincare-makeup hybrids have topped the list of beauty trends in recent years and we have seen a lot last year including Sculpted by Aimee's HydraTint, £23, and Charlotte Tilbury's Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturiser, £39. One of the newest options on the market is Givenchy's Prism Libre Glow Serum Foundation - which I decided to test out. The new product, £48, is powered by micro hyaluronic acid and ceramide yuzu extract to stop your skin from drying out and keep your makeup intact for longer. With the power of a serum, it provides astonishing hydration for up to 48 hours, leaving skin plump and bouncy.
I have fair-medium skin and opted for shades 1.5W and 2N, mixing them together for my perfect match. READ MORE: We put TALA's bestselling activewear to the test - here are our honest thoughts. One of Givenchy's popular products is the Prism Libre Loose Powder, powered by Prismatic Light Technology, for an all-day blurring effect that enhances skin’s natural radiance and the brand's new foundation also incorporates the same technology to neutralise colour imperfections.
My impression of the Givenchy serum foundation has been positive and I was quickly drawn to the premium bottle design. The formula is lightweight but gives enough medium coverage to cover any enlarged pores. As I blended it out with a Morphe M104 Domed Foundation Brush, it left a soft a glow on my skin that I would describe it as dewy. Unlike others that I've tried in the past, this foundation did not leave any oiliness; it reflected light on areas like the cheekbones and nose. Givenchy stated that their study showed in just three weeks, skin is four times more radiant, more blurred and visibly hydrated even after removing the foundation.
It is like wearing a filter in real life. After a full day out and given my combination skin, my problematic T-zone did get oily but in general, the foundation stayed intact with no streaks or caking. However, I won't be travelling with this product as the glass bottle is heavy and takes up space in the 200ml plastic bag. But this foundation is waterproof and transfer-resistant, making it perfect to wear in summer or on beach holidays.
The Prism Libre Glow Serum Foundation. £48, is available at Givenchy Beauty online in 30 different natural, radiant shades, developed with all skin tones in mind. Ilia's Super Serum Skin Tint, also £48, is a great alternative that Holly Willoughby recently used. For a more affordable option, shoppers can try the L'Oreal Paris True Match Tinted Serum Foundation, currently 20% off on Amazon at £11.99. It is infused with 1% hyaluronic acid.
