A primary school teacher has shared the “genius” lie she told her headteacher to avoid having to say a student’s “royal inspired” name. Choosing the perfect name for a child is a tricky, monumental task - a name can affect how a person is perceived, so it’s important to choose something that’ll suit them from infancy to adulthood.

When making a decision, some parents’ most important consideration is the “uniqueness” of the name. This can result in some children being blessed with wonderfully creative names, but it can also lead to nonsensically spelled versions of common, traditional names, or names which completely disregard the rules of phonetics.

Some of the more unconventional names often end up being mocked online, with people taking to social media to share their frustration and amusement with the choices some parents have opted for. This seemed to be the case for one school worker who took to Reddit to share a name they’re particularly unimpressed with. They simply penned: “I work in an elementary school… I have seen so many. The restraint I have shown thus far is amazing but… Ya’Hyniss”.

One person replied: “That's a travesty.” While someone else said: “I couldn’t call them that. I see a nickname in their future.”. But another was inspired to share the name that prompted them to lie to their employer, all so they didn’t have to say it regularly. The educator explained: “I'm British and a former 5th grade teacher in the US. There was a 4th grader at my school whose name was Ya'Majestie.
