A former BBC Radio 1 host was considered unrecognisable by fans after showing off his new facial hair in a selfie. I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star Chris Moyles, 50, asked his followers on Instagram for their thoughts on his new look recently. Just a few days ago, he shared a photo of himself sporting a white beard whilst wearing a white t-shirt, a grey hat and a pair of dark glasses. The presenter - who has his own show on Radio X, after previously working for BBC Radio - has been growing his beard for several weeks. Teasing the new look, he wrote in the caption of his post: "So I grew a beard. Should I keep it?".
His post - which has 12,000 likes - included a poll which has received more than 15,000 responses on the platform so far. The result has yet to be announced, though fans have also shared their thoughts in the comments section. It included some fellow celebrities responding to Chris' recent post. Podcast host Jake Humphrey wrote: "Thought I was following George Clooney on insta for a moment..." Chris replied to the comment: "The camera never lies Jakes ..!".
Presenter Anthea Turner reacted: "Not normally a beard loving girl but it's a really good one and beautifully groomed." She added beside a thumbs up emoji in her comment: "A keeper from me [thumbs up]." Chris said: "Why thank you.". BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell teased in his response to the post recently: "Looking majestic like the master in the old Dr Who." Chris - who's had a 'body transformation' in recent years - replied to Mike's comment with a laughing emoji.
Fans also complimented the former I'm A Celebrity campmate in their responses, with one person commenting: "YES. Keep it. I love it!" Another said: "100% keep it until the better weather comes." A third wrote in their reply to him: "Ooh you've trimmed it. Keep it!". "There's not many blokes that don't look better with a beard," another fan said. Someone else wrote: "Really suits you." Sharing their thoughts on Chris' latest look, one person said: "Yeah it looks cool." Another said: "You look amazing. Really suits you sir, especially with the glasses. Definitely keep." Someone said: "Keep it man! You look very distinguished.".
Some fans suggested that they hadn't recognised Chris. One wrote: "Literally wouldn't recognise you if you passed me in the street. No bad though." Another said: "Didn't recognise you." A third wrote: "Honestly did NOT recognise you!". The new look also drew comparisons to other celebrities, with one person saying that the beard gave "vibes" of football pundit Roy Keane. Chris was also compared to presenter Jamie East and reality TV star Wayne Lineker.
Not everyone was keen on the facial though. One person wrote: "No, sorry." Another said: "For the love of god shave it off please." Someone else wrote: "Prefer you without the beard." Others suggested that it had aged Chris, with one fan telling him: "Ages you." Another said: "Jesus you look 80." Chris replied to them by teasing: "Chris: rude! I'm 78!". Like this story?
