The proud parents of a newborn baby have hosted what appears to be the UK's most extravagant christening. With detailed floral decorations, guests donning dresses fit for prom, and a DJ blasting music late into the night, an onlooker could easily mistake baby Maureen's christening for a wedding. Proud parents Eileen and Fono, who are from the Traveller community, hired London-based DJ Andrea Shillingford to entertain guests well into the evening after a ceremony at St Mary's church in Dunstable.

Shillingford, who also hosted guests at the 'most expensive' gypsy wedding ever' at the Dorchester with a bill of up to £250,000 last year, took to Facebook to share a 'trailer' of the celebrations, organised by Extravagant Events. The DJ hailed the event as 'stunning', adding that the party had the 'best atmosphere'. Close family and friends of baby Maureen, who will now be approaching her first year, started the festivities at church, where the newborn was officially welcomed into the religious community and received a pink Chanel bag after the service.

The service was carried out in top style, with female attendees donning elaborate fascinators and lavish pink dresses while the men opted for grey suits. As the priest conducted the ceremony, Maureen's mother made sure to snap the process on her phone. Proud parents Eileen and Fono, who are from the Traveller community, arranged a lavish christening for their daughter Maureen. Maureen's parents paused the dancing to cut into the towering pink cake to mark their daughter's christening. Guests then showered the newborn with money, placing generous amounts bank notes across her white outfit.

A white Rolls Royce adorned with a decorative pink bow, which was parked outside the venue, presumably carried baby Maureen and her parents to the after party. It seems as though no expense was spared for the joyous occasion, and the venue was decked out in flower arches, balloon walls, and table decorations in a setting that was fit for royalty. Attendees lined their stomachs with plates of hot food before DJ Andrea Shillingford took to the decks and got the party started, blasting out tunes to entertain guests as they gripped onto their alcoholic tipples.

Before taking to the dancefloor, the parents watched the party scenes unfold from the comfort of thrones, placed on a deck above the other guests. Attendees twirled neon light-in-the-dark sticks as they sang and danced their way through the evening. The party appeared to get hot for one attendee, who removed his shirt and took to the dancefloor topless.

Flowers, bows on chairs, and a ginormous cake contributed to the lavish settings at baby Maureen's Christening. Maureen's proud parents sat on thrones as they dined on lavish food at the christening celebrations. Meanwhile, a Mickey Mouse mascot and Disney princesses, including Ariel, kept the younger guests entertained. The dancing came to a brief pause at one point to allow the parents to slice into a tiered pink cake, which extended well above the parents' headspace - thanks to its impressive size.

While the DJ's trailer of the 'stunning' event only offered a short snapshot trailer into the event, the festivities presumably carried on well into the night. It comes after a bride who tied the knot in lavish style at The Dorchester has pulled off what appears to be the UK's most expensive Traveller wedding to date. Louise Durant, 21, and Billy Maguire, 22, celebrated their union in a winter wonderland wedding at the luxurious Mayfair hotel - where room hire can start at £10,000 - surrounded by 350 guests.

The bride, whose family is from the Traveller community, said the festive nuptials - which took place in December - were 'more than a dream come true'. 'It was beyond my wildest imaginations,' she told MailOnline. 'The day started amazingly and just got better and better. It was perfect.'. The family had been saving for two years, and indeed no expense was spared to create the perfect magical occasion. Louise's parents couldn't confirm how much exactly the wedding set them back, but said it was well over £100,000 - and didn't baulk when figures of around £250,000 were mentioned.

Maureen's mother snapped the christening on her phone while her father helped with the service. Guests on the dance floor appeared thrilled with DJ Andrea Shillingford's music selection at the event. A lavish flower arch, silver pillars with bouquets placed on top, and a glossy dancefloor set the scene for the celebrations. After the religious service, the proud parents posed for a photograph with Maureen, who was draped in a pink Chanel bag.
