Unforgotten has finally returned to ITV for its sixth series and it certainly hasn't disappointed. Sinead Keenan returns for her second year as DCI Jess James, alongside Sanjeev Bhaskar reprising his role as DI Sunny Khan. The programme has been a huge success ever since it debuted on the channel back in 2015 and fans simply can't wait to uncover each and every grisly murder, with the illusive detective duo uncovering plenty of plot twists along the way, adding an equal dose of tension and suspense to grip viewers.

Now, the show is back on screens once more, with the first episode living up to expectations after a spine was discovered and pulled from Whitney Marsh. In their usual fashion, Sunny and Jess got straight to work with piecing the mystery together. This season is like no other as the programme has welcomed a number of new guest characters to the show, with icon Michele Dotrice being one huge name in the line up.

But what do we really know about the actress who plays Dot Baines, an elderly woman who is cared for by her son Marty Baines (Maximilian Fairley), when the cameras aren't rolling?. The 76-year old English actress has been in the acting world for decades, in fact her first ever on stage appearance happened when she was just three-months old. Michelle was born to actors Roy Dotrice and Kay Dotrice, who were both starring in Rep when she was just a baby.

She has two sisters Yvette, 60, and Karen, 64, both also being famous in the showbiz world too. At age 10, Karen landed the role of Jane Banks starring alongside legend Julie Andrews in the original Mary Poppins movie. She previously told the Mirror: "I was a traditional theatre baby – not quite born in a dressing room, but I certainly grew up in some. The family, my middle sister, Karen, and younger sister, Yvette, and I all travelled about as my parents did repertory theatre.

"I followed in the family tradition, getting a part in The Two Gentlemen Of Verona when I was 11. From then on, I did many classic television plays including Little Nell in The Old Curiosity Shop and What Katie Did.". Despite meeting her husband when she was just 11 years old, the pair would not go on to marry until years later. Edward Woodward and Michele tied the knot in 1987. They remained an item until his death in November 2009, and they share one daughter together. Edward Woodward was also the famous star of crime dramas Callan and The Equaliser.

At the time when they rekindled, Edward had been married with three children but later got divorced. Seven years after he tied the knot with Michele, he needed to have triple bypass surgery. After 11 years together Edward died sadly died at age 79. Michele told the Express previously: "Losing my darling boy broke my heart. It's such a terrible loss.". Michele landed her first TV role in 1962 which was the adaptation of The Old Curiosity Shop, later bagging herself the role in the movie The Witches and other horror films.

It wasn't until she was in her early twenties that Michele landed the role of Betty Spencer in the 1970s Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, that saw her fame skyrocket. Speaking to the Mirror, she said at the time: "By the time Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em came around, when I was in my early twenties, I was known as a serious actor. I’d done A Month In The Country, The Winslow Boy and The Three Sisters. But the show did change my life. Everyone wanted to mimic Frank Spencer – played by Michael Crawford – and the catch phrase ‘Ooh, Betty’ was nationally known.".
