A UK seaside town has held strongly onto its title as Las Vegas of the North - with its famous strip, stunning illuminations and fun-packed activities. Infamous Blackpool, in Lancashire, has continued to attract a sea of tourists over the years. The iconic town offers a mixture of unique character and nostalgia and is known for its one-of-a-kind entertainment. Much like Las Vegas, Blackpool is packed with a vibrant atmosphere with buildings welcoming visitors to walk along the Golden Mile. The iconic strip invites partygoers with its flashing multi-coloured lights and is home to casinos, nightclubs and amusements.

Roars of laughter and chatter fill the strip, with the area being labelled as a must-go-to destination. Locals boast about the town, which is home to the iconic Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach, and Illuminations. And while some people have never visited, the Blackpool Tower Ballroom is largely known - with it featuring most years on Strictly Come Dancing. The Ballroom first opened in 1984, but still possesses its magic with its stunning ceiling decor, glistening chandeliers and huge dancefloor.

The seaside town was recently named the friendliest largest destination in the UK and even overtook Brighton on the list. It comes after a survey was conducted by train company LNER, using the latest ONS (Office for National Statistics ) data. The research found that Blackpoolians are highly fulfilled with their life and are full of happiness, The Gazette reports. It also revealed that the town features the highest five-star rating of restaurants and hotels.
