ITV's Dancing On Ice has been a staple on our screens since it began back in 2006. But recent years have seen a few changes to the show. And now, the skating show's 2019 champion James Jordan has revealed how another major update to the series could "mix things up". Speaking in an exclusive chat with the Mirror, James revealed: "I know that Dancing on Ice have got a new producer this year, who I’ve worked with before, and I know he’s very good at what he does, so I would imagine he’s got lots of things lined up to mix it up a bit.".
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James, 46, added in an exclusive chat in association with Sky Vegas: "I love the show so there isn’t anything I would like to see change, however if I had to pick something, the one thing I would like to see is the skaters chatting to one of the hosts, in a green room, as a reaction to their performance, with all the skaters around them. Maybe that might be too like Strictly Come Dancing, but I like to see the camaraderie between all the contestants.".
Last year, the hosting line-up was changed after Phillip Schofield stepped away from his ITV jobs in 2023. His former co-host Holly Willoughby now presents the skating programme alongside Stephen Mulhern. After the pair first co-hosted the competition last year, Stephen revealed how he feels making a return to the rink. He posted on X: "Holly’s bringing the glamour, I’m bringing… well, myself. Dancing on Ice returns this Sunday, live at 6.30pm on @itv and @ITVX. Prepare for sparkle, skating, and a night of pure, unmissable entertainment!".
