Rapper Kanye West has suggested that his eldest son Saint inspired the title of his upcoming album Bully. Kanye, 47 - also known as Ye - has not put out a new solo album since Grammy Award nominated Donda, which was released in 2021. He's already teased his next album on a few occasions ahead of its expected release later this year. He was asked about the project whilst recording a podcast recently and suggested that his son Saint, nine, inspired its name. Saint is the eldest son of Kanye and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, 44, who have four children together.
Asked why he chose to call his new album Bully, Kanye told by Justin Laboy, 33, on the Download podcast: "Y'know my son was playing with some kid and then he kicked him. And I asked my son ... I said 'why you do that?' And he said 'cause he weak.' And I was like 'this man is really a bully right here'.". Justin said: "Saint, you the reason for Bully." Kanye added: "Don't Saint do that? He just kick everybody and like push 'em over." Justin teased as he laughed: "I wonder who he get that from, which parent. Definitely young Ye." Kanye appeared to agree with the comment, saying: "Yeah.".
Elsewhere on the podcast, Kanye spoke about his eldest child North, 11. He teased that she will follow in his footsteps with her own career in music and will be "the hands down greatest," after having previously worked together. Alongside her involvement with the music industry, North has voiced a character in PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). She also performed at the Hollywood Bowl last year in an anniversary concert for the Lion King (1994).
North's mother Kim spoke about her career taking off in the season six premiere of the Kardashians, released on Disney+ in the UK on Thursday. She revealed that she's now a "momager" and said: "I thought I was busy before.". She said: "Me having to be her momager right now is crazy. Like, it's just ... it was not on my list. It was not on my bingo card for this year." Kim added in the episode: "If she has a shoot, it's like I have to be there all day, so it's like her or me.".
As revealed in a teaser ahead of the premiere, Kim shared on the show that she feels "conflicted" about North's career. She said: "I just really want to make sure that everything's really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.".
