The Only Way is Essex star Lauren Goodger, 38, spoke of the life she could have lived with Mark Wright, 37, as she admitted her feelings for him never went away in a painful interview before his baby news. Lauren and her TOWIE co-star dated since they were teens - before finding fame on the ITV show - and split for good in 2012. Mark moved on with Coronation Street alum Michelle Keegan, 37, whom he married in 2015. On Sunday, the happy couple announced that they’re expecting their first child together.
While Lauren said that she’s happy about Mark’s new romance, she opened up about a promise he once made with her - a promise he’s now seen through with Michelle. The reality TV star also admitted that she and Mark don’t speak, despite bumping into each other frequently.
Looking back on her time with Mark, Lauren reminisced about Mark taking her to a location near where they lived, and asking if she’d like him to build a forever home for them on the land. “'Of course I do, because I want to have kids in it and I want to get married,’” she remembered replying while speaking to the Daily Mail. She added: “And he has done it, but he's moved on. It's not with me.”.
“I don't think that sort of love from childhood goes away,” Lauren also shared. The Celebs Go Dating star added that she was “happy” for Mark and “proud” of him, but worried that he didn’t know that - while also outlining that she didn’t have the same romantic feelings for him she once had.
