An explosive new book on Lord Lucan is finally being published. People can now buy the book after it was dramatically banned from publication at the very last minute last month. The book - 'The Search For My Mother’s Murderer' - is written by Neil Berriman, the son of Sandra Rivett; the nanny murdered by Lucan. The book claims to contain "explosive new evidence, entwined with fresh witness testimony" and details surrounding the notorious 1974 murder. It's being published at the same time as the three-part Lucan documentary, which is aired on Australian TV from today.

Berriman, who wrote the book alongside respected former BBC journalist Glen Campbell, said: "Finally we are getting this book published. Finally the public will be read fully about what we discovered about Lord Lucan. There can be no more cover-up. They’ve tried to keep me quiet for too long. "The truth has to be told from my words it its important to keep the memory of Sandra alive . I now have so much backing from people world wide." He added: "With explosive new evidence, entwined with fresh witness testimony, The Search For My Mother's Murderer traces my decade long investigation to confront the man who I believe, and science says, murdered my mum. It is an extraordinary journey of my relentless search for the truth in the face of an establishment cover up. I’d ask you how far would you go to catch your mother's murderer?".

Campbell said: "It’s a relief that the book is going to be published. It’s important that Neil’s story is told and that all the information that we have uncovered over the years is made public." Lucan murdered the family’s nanny in Belgravia in November 1974. He fled the scene and was never seen again. Police believe he died after throwing himself off a cross channel ferry. But many believe he was successfully helped to escape and then created a new life abroad.

And Berriman, a building contractor from Milland, West Sussex said he has tracked Lucan down to a remote house in Queensland, Australia. Some of the world’s leading Facial Recognition Technique experts have compared photos taken of Lucan before 1974 with pictures of the elderly pensioner and said they were a definite "match". Lucan would have celebrated his 90th birthday on the 18th December, if still alive.

The book was due to be published by the Little, Brown Book Group. But just days before it was due to be printed worried lawyers ordered the publishers to pull the plug. The publishers took their decision following the three part BBC2 documentary which drew record viewing figures in November. Berriman hosts a website which has been inundated with emails and information since the TV series. The book will cost £14 for paperback, £20 for hardback and £7.50 for Kindle version.
