The procedure led to serious complications, including hemorrhages, and she was later diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. Since then, Louise has undergone multiple surgeries, including a partial colon removal and the fitting of a stoma bag. During an episode of their He Said, She Said podcast, Louise was visibly moved when she asked Ryan who he would rather see pass away first.

Fighting back tears, a surprised Louise asked: 'Oh, so you'd choose to die after me?'. Ryan clarified: 'So you don't have to suffer the pain - that's the point of the example.'. He then lowered his head into his hands before adding: 'That is… that's love.'.

Louise has been in and out of hospital ever since being diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2018. Ulcerative colitis is a chronic bowel condition where the colon and rectum become inflamed and small ulcers develop on the colon's lining, which can bleed. The condition has no cure, but can be effectively managed with time.
