Love Island's Elma Pazar and Sammy Root were announced as the fifth place couple on Monday's night finale. On Monday night, host Maya Jama brought fans all the action live on air as she returned to the South African villa for the final times this series. Final couples included Grace Jackson and Luca Bish, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Curtis Pritchard, Gabby Allen and Casey O'Gorman, Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame as well as Elma Pazar and Sammy Root.

It's been a rollercoaster ride for the stars, with Ekin-Su and Elma falling out on several occasions and Casey getting irritated every time there's a challenge and he's chosen for certain questions. All the couples have been loved up but it didn't come without arguments and lots of hurdles. After being announced as the fifth place couple, Elma joked that they got to the final "by the skin of our teeth" before they discussed their connection with the host. Fans were quick to share their delight at the couple coming in fifth place, with one user saying on X: "Elma & Sammy going is so long overdue, 5th still too high.".

"Welp elma and sammy do s****y things get shitty prizes and you landed in 5th place," another posted. In fourth place came Catherine and Omar, who got together after the PE teacher came in as a bombshell. "I prayed and, you know what, he came through," Catherine said when asked about him coming in. "Good things came to those who wait.". Ekin-Su and Curtis came in third place in the final, much to the shock of fans. "I'm really happy, I found my man," the Turkish soap star said about being third place while Curtis added that his new girlfriend is 'amazing'. The crowd clapped as they told each other they'd 'always have' each other's backs.

"Nah Ekin Su and Curtis have been done dirty," one confused fan said of the result while one user commented: "How is Casey a potential winner over Ekin??" Another viewer posted: "GASP???? EKIN AND CURTIS IN THIRD IS F**KING CRAZY???????" One complained: "Ekin and Curtis not being in the top 2 tells me everything I need to know about the British public.". Meanwhile, Ronnie Vint and Harriett Blackmore were the last couple to get dumped from the island after rekindling their relationship. Elma Pazar and Sammy Root, Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint and Catherine Agbaje and Omar Nyame faced getting the axe at the last hurdle.

Ronnie who has been happily coupled up with Harriett was not happy about the twist, and said: “If they come tomorrow and throw shade at us, I’m going in because we don’t deserve votes.” The next day, former contestants India Reynolds, Olivia Hawkins, Marcel Somerville, Kaz Crossley, Montel McKenzie, Nas Majeed, Ron Hall, Danielle Sellers, Samie Elishi, Tina Stinnes and Chuggs Wallis returned to cast their votes on heart shaped boards.

The dumped Islanders then voted on who to eliminate from the villa, which ended up being Ronnie and Harriett. Speaking to Maya Jama after their exit, the couple reviewed the fact they had been dumped by their fellow contestants. The pair said they planned to pursue their romance away from the villa - as they previously dated after being on Love Island together before. Ronnie said: "People might say don't go back and all that, but that feeling, I just couldn't let go. With H, I am this person now that I've always wanted to be... A changed man. I've said I feel like I won.".
