Love Island fans think they’ve figured out Catherine Agbaje’s game plan after Sunday’s shocking twist. During yesterday’s episode, a sudden dumping overtook the villa, with one couple axed from the ITV show just a day before the final. The public took the first vote, with the three least popular couples at risk of leaving Casa Amor. Catherine and her partner Omar Nyame found themselves in the tough spot, alongside Elma Pazar and Sammy Root, and Harriett Blackmore and Ronnie Vint. Next, the stars of the show had their say - with all of the dumped islanders returning to cast a vote about who should be next to go.

Former contestants India Reynolds, Olivia Hawkins, Marcel Somerville, Kaz Crossley, Montel McKenzie, Nas Majeed, Ron Hall, Danielle Sellers, Samie Elishi, Tina Stinnes and Chuggs Wallis all returned to the villa, and cast their votes on heart shaped boards. Although in the bottom three couples, Catherine and Omar got no votes at all from their fellow islanders, with no one wanting the pair to leave. On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans said that Catherine’s behaviour on the show so far ensured that she’d be safe, with some suggesting that she was acting naturally while others hinted that it might be a sneaky tactic to stay under the radar.

“Catherine being friends with everyone has played in her favour. While y’all was complaining and crying,” one person said, with another agreeing: “A friend to all.”. “I guess Catherine being ‘a friend to everyone’ truly worked out in the end then, huh? I know tiktokers mad af right now,” one person wrote. “See what being a ‘people pleaser’ as some of ya’ll liked to call her gets you ??? Catherine and Omar FINALISTS with NO VOTES against them !!!!” another celebrated.

Even before the vote, a fan predicted that Catherine’s kindness would see her and Omar sail through the vote. “I’m not too worried about Catherine making the final because my networking diva was kind to everyone. so no one has anything against her,” they said. Other viewers took a less kind tone, suggesting that Catherine might not be genuine or should be bringing more drama. “The power of being boring,” a viewer snarked, while another penned: “Seems being a kiss ass pays off.”.

Even the islanders seemed to guess that Catherine and Omar would likely do well when facing off against more controversial couples. Before the vote, an angry Ronnie said of himself and Harriett: “If they come tomorrow and throw shade at us, I’m going in because we don’t deserve votes.” Ultimately, he and Harriett were voted to leave. In contrast, Luca Bish seemed confident in his pals, and was shown reassuring Catherine and Omar, saying: “There’s no reason for you two to ever be there.” Catherine added: “What’s hard is that they’re two strong couples… hopefully the dumped Islanders can see what Omar and I have.”.
