Love Island's Samie Elishi has broken her silence after getting her phone back, immediately turning to Instagram to update her fans. In a heartfelt post, Samie, 25, wrote: "Guyssss... I'm finally properly back!!," alongside heart hands emoji's. Samie continued: "I've been going through all of your lovely birthday messages from the other day and support. It wasn't the easiest little journey this time round but I wouldn't change it! What's for ya won't go by ya & I'm glad I was 100% true to me throughout.
"I can't express the love [I have] for all of you kind people out there. I'm reading through every single DM! Can't wait to show you how special my birthday was this year and what me and the girls have been up to the past week in the sun.". The post was followed by an emotional plea for trolls to stop sending "vile messages." Samie shared a photo of former Love Island host Caroline Flack, who tragically passed away in 2020 after a battle with her mental health.
Along with the photo, Samie wrote: "A beautiful women was lost due to mental health and I'm seeing some of the vile messages my friends in this industry are receiving (including myself) people are very quick to forget that we are not fictional characters and you never know what's going on inside someone's head and what they are struggling with. "Everyone taking time to send these disgusting messages should be ashamed, it's not too late to apologise and take back your 'heat of the moment' comments. Be a better person today.".
She finalised the post with a statement that read: "In a world where you can be ANYTHING be KIND. Don't be naïve and quick to forget how your words impact people's lives.". Samie made her exit just over a week ago alongside Danielle Sellers. She was left single when Luca decided to stick with her love rival Grace Jackson instead in the dramatic recoupling. Speaking on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, Samie couldn't resist making a dig at her former flame, but insisted she won't cry over the ex-fishmonger from Brighton. Asked what her favourite Love Island moment was, Samie brutally replied: "Probably pie-ing Luca." This is in reference to an actual pie in the face moment during the Snog, Marry, Pie challenge.
But Samie also revealed how she had a secret conversation to clear the air with Grace after the pair found themselves in a love triangle with Luca - but it never aired on TV. She shared: "So I had a conversation with Grace and we were fine. But obviously it was just uncomfortable the whole time.". During the chat, Samie was asked about the friendships she had made on the show and said she was close with "all the girls to be fair," before adding: "But the only person I didn't really gel with one to one was Grace. For obvious reasons.".
Samie also admitted that she wasn't interested in getting to know any of the other boys aside from Luca - which turned out to be her downfall in the end - as she declared: "There were slim pickings!".
