A MAN has been charged with the murder of a missing woman as divers have scoured drains in a desperate search to find her. Julie Buckley, 54, of Christchurch, Cambridgeshire, has not been seen since late January. A "no-body" murder investigation was launched on Friday and now Karl Hutchings, 47, from the same village, has been charged with her murder. He is due to appear at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Cambridgeshire Police has been carrying out inquiries into Julie's disappearance "but so far to no avail". Two bungalows eight miles apart were previously sealed off in connection with the investigation. Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit declared the case a "no-body" murder investigation on Friday. Police are still appealing for any information about Julie's whereabouts and is urging anyone who has seen her in recent weeks to get in touch.

Cambridgeshire Police also confirmed it had carried out a search on Grounds Avenue in the nearby town of March in connection with the investigation. Detective Inspector Richard Stott said: "We are trying to piece together Julie's movements before she disappeared so I would appeal for anyone who has seen her in the past few weeks to get in touch. "We know she has links to places in the surrounding area including March, Manea, and Chatteris so I would urge people who live in those areas to consider if they have information that could be of use to our inquiry.
